Offerings for Choir and musical instrument instruction start in 4th grade. Sports are offered to our 5th - 8th graders, which include football, volleyball, soccer, track & field, and basketball. Is there extracurricular programming for students? In lower grades, each classroom has access to both Chromebooks and iPads for student use as needed. Students have 1:1 access to Chromebooks in grades 4-8th. What technology is available to students? Students can also choose to bring in their own lunch from home or a combination of both. Students have the option to eat free breakfast and/or lunch provided by the school. Classes may include fine arts, music, Spanish, library, or physical education. Students receive an hour of Essential class daily. What Essential classes do students experience? Spanish is taught to students Pre- K - 8th grade as a weekly essentials class. We make all efforts to get students outside on a daily basis, weather permitting. In grades 1st - 8th students have a 20-25 minute recess. Early Childhood students have 40 mins of recess daily. What does the day look like for 1-8th grade students? Students also engage in a daily one-hour essentials class which can include art, music, Spanish, library, or physical education. Our Pre-K and K students are in multiage classrooms referred to as “Early Childhood.” A typical day includes a morning uninterrupted work time (1-2 hours), a morning snack, circle time (class meeting), lunch, recess (4-year-olds get two recess breaks - mid-day, then afternoon), and Kindergarten has an afternoon work time.
